Kontronik Fun 500 Set

This set includes a Kontronik Brushless Fun 500-27 Motor with a 5.2:1 Planetary Gear Drive and a Jazz 40-6-18 ESC.

This expert class set is ideal for converting larger aircraft to electric such as the Great Planes Fokker DR1 .60 ARF, Piper J-3 Cub .40-.46 ARF, P-51D, Pitts Special, PT-17 Stearman, and Tiger Moth.

Features:

• Eliminates the need to match up separate motors and ESCs
• For batteries up to 10 cell Ni-MH/Ni-Cd, or 2 to 3 cell Li-Po Packs

Programmable speed control modes include:

• Auto-Programming Mode (APM): For general purpose use, identifies throttle range from initial radio stick movement, sets average brake strength and low voltage cutoff to 0.8V per cell for Ni-MH/ Ni-Cd
• Glider: Sets average brake strength and Low Voltage Cutoff to 0.8V per cell for for Ni-MH/ Ni-Cd
• Airplanes and Boats: Brake function disabled, low voltage cutoff not set
• Competition (FB5, FB5 10 cells, F5D): Brake set at maximum speed for folding props, low voltage not set (but can be manually adjusted, temperature and current overload disabled, RPM limit set at maximum, no safe-start function
• Heli: RPM control enabled for maintaining rotor head speeds in loaded conditions
• Two Car Modes: Forward only or forward and reverse, low voltage cut-off not set, throttle range set for car applications, no safe start function
• Reverse Rotation: Motor rotation can be reversed by reversing wiring sequence to motor, or changing to reverse programming mode
• Li-Po Battery Mode: Sets speed control to recognize Li-Po batteries
• EMF brake with 10 brake strength settings
• Automatically sets optimum operating frequency (range is 8-32kHz) based on motor inductance and winding resistance
• Adjustable Low Voltage Cutoff protection for NiCd and NiMH batteries (0.8V default), Low Voltage Cutoff protection for lithium batteries of 3.0V per cell
• Unlimited "partial load capability" design allows for high efficiency when operating at less than full power
